Countdown to the Comet

Mon Jun 2, 2008, 6:49 PM
Well, I have AWS (Avatar Withdraw Syndrome), because now that 'The Office' has ended its season, and I'm finally back to focusing on Avatar, I need some medication.

At AvatarSpirit.Net, there's a really fun game going on that gives a fun topic to do everyday relating to Avatar. For those of you with AWS, or who just want to have a little fun each day, check out this "Countdown to the Comet":

June 3: Write a letter to your favourite character. Imagine they were your pen pal.
June 4: Make a shrine, like Iroh's memorial for Lu Ten, for one of the characters in Avatar. Print out a picture of them and hang it up, then places items that represent the character around your shrine. Do other things to show who that person is; burn a candle for Zuko or turn on a handheld fan for Aang.
June 5: Zuko Love Day. To make up for Zuko-abuse day.
June 6: Avatard food second course. You've got plenty of warning this time. Get cooking!
June 7: Hairbending! Try an Avatarverse hairstyle.
June 8: Make a White Lotus ornament and place it somewhere on your person
June 9: Write a profile of an Avatar from the past or future.
June 10: Remember Zhao? He was great wasn't he? Let's remember him somehow.
June 11: Do some fanart in a different medium than you might otherwise use. Let's see some stitching, woodwork, painting, etching, sculpture etc.
June 12: Sugar Queen Katara Day!
June 13: Eat, sell, destroy or otherwise interact with cabbage.
June 14: Make an Avatar playlist of songs that you think go with Avatar. Post up your playlist.
June 15: Design a Avatarverse hybrid creature, draw it, describe it; where does it live, what does it eat, can it be tamed?
June 16: Respect your elders - Draw some fan art of an adult Avatar character.
June 17: Crack Theory Day - make one up, the crackier the better!Sokka Day!
June 18: Re-watch the first Avatar episode you ever saw; did you know then that you'd be this obsessed? Was it a good episode to start with?
June 19: How many languages can you say "I love Avatar!" in? List them and try to learn a new one!
June 20: What would you write as a sequel to Avatar? Synopsis please!
June 21: Ty Lee Today!
June 22: In honour of Aang become vegetarian for the day. If you are already vegetarian then be vegan. If you are vegan then... good for you!
June 23: We love ASN! Do or make something nice for the people who made and make this site great. Let's thank those mods!
June 24: What would your dream Avatar video game be?
June 25: Make an Avatar Pin and wear it.
(Hotaru is at Glastonbury Festival up to her Avatard ears in Mud, but the Countdown continues!)
June 26: Watch your least favourite episode and find something new to like about it.
June 27: Do your own thing day. Think of something original and Avatarded and do it! What did you do?
June 28: What would you be doing if Avatar wasn't part of your life?
June 29: Talk like Chong Day!
(Hopefully Hotaru has cleaned the mud off and is back to count down!)
June 30: Appa Appreciation Day! Make yourself an Appa out of anything! Prize for the most imaginative!

Future Projects

Fri May 23, 2008, 2:05 PM
Here's what I've got planned - and what I hope - will be happening with my DA account in the near future. Most of it is literature, but I also have a few traditional art pieces planned. In this journal, I'll just be discussing the literature.

1) Childhood Memories
Yeah, this is still going on. It'll be a short, four part story centering on Jet's childhood and the burning of his village. I have no specific information on when I'll be updating though.

2) Godzilla vs Cloverfield Working Title
I remember promising I'd do this a while ago, and since then I've been molding together a story that I approve of. This will not be a short project, but an entire plot centering around human characters under the feet of Godzilla, Clover, and another monster. Even though it isn't all monster action, I still think it's going to be really epic, so check it out! Expect it after "The Hunt" is finished.

3) Stratostone
This is a short story that I'm writing as a prequel to "The Smiley War" (though the connection is very very vague). Expect it next weekend.

4) The Hunt
YAY! May 30th is the release date for new chapters! And I still have drawings in the works.

8 Random Facts

Fri May 16, 2008, 9:18 PM
1. Post these rules.
2. Each person tagged must post 8 random facts about themselves.
3. Tags should write a journal/ blog of these facts.
4. At the end of the post 8 more persons are tagged and named.
5. Go to their page and leave a comment telling them they're tagged (or not).

- I'm tired and really crazy right now, so as I write this journal I may say some things I would never admit in real life. YAYz! -

1) I love making movies. It's really the story aspect that attracts me most; being able to create my own plot and display it visually is a reward in and of itself. I've Assistant-Directed, Edited, and Filmed a movie called "Krazy Kid". Then, I Directed, Edited, Filmed, and Animated "Krazy Kid II". I'm currently Writing, Directing, and Animating "The Smiley War".

2) I like to make references to movies, stories, and TV in everyday conversations. But, usually my quotes go unnoticed because the kind of stuff I'm into isn't the kind of stuff anyone else would even look at. (The Japanese 1989 outbreak of nuclear roses and venus fly traps).

3) My phone is old, but it's breaking so I'll probably need a new one soon. I hope I get a new one that has an alphabet. But don't tell anyone, they're kind of expensive and I really want a new camera!

4) My real name isn't "Kaiser". Nor is it "Kaiser II".

5) My Godzilla DVD Collection takes up half of the shelf space in my living room. It's actually kind of sad, because it's still a work in progress. The Classic Media DVDs should be arriving any day now!

6) In Geography Class, I hate my teacher and I hate the way she teaches. So when I take notes, I'm really keeping track of every time she makes a reference to her own life, global warming, or the economy (which is funny cause we're suppose to be learning about Hinduism in India). Also, I try to get her off topic for as long as possible. The record is 16:08. Shh.

7) The Feng Shui brochure said never to keep a statue of a dragon in your bedroom: dragons are energetic, and they like to fly around. But being energetic and flying around is bad when you're trying to sleep. Luckily, I need to get up early in the morning to go to school, so the dragon actually helps me wake up quickly. I recommend a Feng Shui dragon as an alarm clock. They work.

8) I was going to write something really meaningful for #8, but I decided not to because it revealed too much of my personal feelings. Everyone knows it's best to keep your emotions bottled up until they finally explode in a violent frenzy of yelling and self-hate (like they did last week I think). Never take my relationship advice. It doesn't work.

I'm not tagging anyone. And I'm really tired.

Life Soundtrack

Tue Apr 29, 2008, 4:14 PM
If your life was a movie....
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, go to a new song
6.DONT LIE!

Opening Credits: Dethroned by X-Ray Dog (Awesome Music!)

Waking Up: Once by Glen Hansard (Very slow romantic song. Weird.).

First Day At School: I Am The Walrus by The Beatles (Oh yeah... Love this song).

Falling In Love: Hey Jude by the Beatles (Suppose it makes sense).

Fight Song: Moscow from The Bourne Supremacy (Pretty intense at the end. Bring it!)

Breaking Up: Gold from Once (This is a "How I love her so" song. Guess it makes sense).

Prom: The Drop from The Bourne Supremacy (Slow, intense song. What the hell happened at this prom?)

Life: Godzilla Roar Sound Effect by Akira Ifukube (. . .)

Mental Breakdown: Faces Without Names from The Bourne Ultimatum (Makes perfect sense).

Driving: Broken Hearted Hoover Fixer Sucker Guy by Glen Hansard (Those are pretty much the lyrics, and it makes no sense).

Flashback: American Woman by Lenny Kravitz (What exactly was this flashback about?!)

Wedding: Stairway to Heaven by Led Zepplin (Okay... yeah, yeah).

Birth Of Child: Because by The Beatles (Hmm...)

Death Scene: All The Way Down by Glen Hansard (Oh my God! I'm going to commit suicide!)

Funeral: For The Benefit of Mr. Kite by The Beatles (Om my freaking God! Are people really that happy that I'm dead?!)

End Credits: You're Pitiful by Weird Al (... I'm going to go angst in a corner for the rest of the day).

Oh the Humanity

Sat Apr 19, 2008, 4:51 PM
A lot happened today.

PROS

- Apparently, the new Avatar trailer is awesome and full of epicsauce. But I have yet to see it. CAN'T FUNKING WAIT!
- Apocalypse rumors on Avatar?
- I got $25 by doing nothing.
- I got "The Office Season Two" on DVD!

CONS

- People suspect me of being an evil teenager because I wear trench coats in public.
- I'm pretty sure my friend is plotting against me, he always has the most ridiculous excuses not to get together.
- Nobody texted my back today :(
- Nickelodeon isn't airing any new Avatar episodes until July, forcing us to buy the DVD on May 6th.
- I eat too much pizza apparently, because once every other week is bad and evilz according to mom.
- Comedy Central made "Shawn of the Dead" not funny anymore.
- More snow.

But HEY! How's everyone else feeling about Avatard-Day?
